Registration: If you wish to participate in the Juried Art Show during the conference weekend, you must sign up when you register for the conference. You must virtually attend the conference on Saturday, Sunday, or both, to enter the show.
Deadline for submitting: Sunday, June 13, 2021.
How to submit: Juried Art Show Submission Instructions
Fee: $25 for members and $35 for non-members. Registration is limited to the first 25 entries.
Judging: The judges will look at your portfolios during the week leading up to the conference and vote for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners. Our judges will be Sarah Hokanson, Associate Art Director at Random House; Dan Yaccarino, award-winning author and illustrator; and Diana Toledo, illustrator and educator.
Portfolios: Please limit your portfolio to 10-12 images.
Suggestions of what to include in your portfolio:
– Children in motion
– Animal characters
– Work that shows the same character moving through a story
– An image that illustrates a problem
– Start with your strongest piece and end with another strong piece
– Group similar mediums & styles together
– Name and contact info on each piece
First Place: A $50 gift certificate from Blick Art Materials and a VIP email submission to Sarah Hokanson within three months of the conference.
Second Place: A $30 gift certificate to Blick Art Materials.
Third Place: A $25 gift certificate to Blick Art Materials.
The winners will be announced at the conference on Sunday. You do not have to be present on Sunday to receive your prize.
