MAY Webinar Presenter: Jessica Capelle

MAY Topic: This Software Will Save Your (Writing) Life! PART TWO

Mention Scrivener to another writer, and you’re likely to get a strong opinion. But there’s a reason this writing software is so beloved. Jess Capelle wants to show you how it can completely change your writing life for the better, without a big learning curve.

In this two-part presentation, you’ll learn the basics for every step of the writing process from brainstorming to formatting. In part one, you’ll get familiar with the layout, learn how to import your current manuscript, and how to start a new one. In part two, you’ll get an introduction to the built-in outline and corkboard features as well as some cool features you didn’t know you needed in your writing life. Both PC and Mac versions of the software will be covered.

Previous knowledge of Scrivener is not a requirement for part one, but part two depends on attending part one or at least knowing some basics. Jess recommends that you go to www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener and download the free trial version of the software so you can follow along or at least familiarize yourself with the format. (the trial gives you 30 days of use, however  long that takes you)

Bio: Jessica Capelle

Jessica (“Jess”) Capelle writes non-fiction, poetry, and suspenseful stories across genres. In addition to her own work, she has been a ghostwriter for multiple authors who, sadly, do not write about ghosts. Luckily, her alter ego, Jessa Dean, brings all the ghosts to her books for kids, including multiple books in the Spooky America series from Arcadia Children’s Books. Jess lives in the Houston area, where her day job in law proves truth is stranger than fiction. She can usually be found with coffee in hand and a cat by her side.
