January Webinar Presenter: Jessica Brody

January Topic:

In Jessica Brody’s ‘Save the Cat Writes a Notel’ talk, she presents a method of crafting your novel to make it as riveting as a movie; because every captivating story throughout time has the same essential plot points. In this workshop, Jessica introduces her “Save the Cat!” method and breaks down what it takes to make your hero ready for these “beats.”  Writers will leave the presentation with a main character that is primed to be worthy as hero of the story! Attendees will also be offered a free month to her Writing Mastery Academy, her online learning platform for writers.

Bio: Jessica has written and published over seventeen novels for teens, tweens, and adults including 52 Reasons to Hate My FatherA Week of Mondays (a Texas Lone Star list selection), Addie Bell’s Shortcut to Growing, The Geography of Lost Things, Better You Than MeThe Chaos of Standing StillIn Some Other Life (a Junior Library Guilt selection), and the three books in the Unremembered trilogy. She is also the author of Save the Cat! Writes a Novel, a how-to plotting book for novelists. Her next young adult novel, Sky Without Stars, a sci-fi retelling of Victor Hugo’s Les Miserables (co-written by Joanne Rendell) released in March of 2019.
